I decided to continue my practicum period in another school that I’m working in. I did my first period in a different institution that I’m working in too. It is called Jean Piaget, and it’s also located in San Carlos de Bariloche. The school opened its doors in 1991; its name was given by teachers taking into account the school’s objectives, and it was mainly based on Piaget’s learning and acquisition theories.
As soon as I started the subject I gave the agreement to the Piaget’s head teacher in order for her to sign it up and start my practicum in Sixth Grade. I had to agree on a schedule and what to teach with the school’s coordinator to start the practicum since I’m teaching in the grade that I did the practicum. During the month of June I started my practicum.
In general the activities that I planned during this period were based on the CLIL and Communicative Approach. I mean that I tried to introduce the language to learn as well to communicate; my lessons combined content, communication, cognition and cultural exposure. The main goal of the lesson plans were to engage students and motivate them to use the language to communicate in real life situations.

My Lesson Plannings:
I decided to start my Primary Practicum basing my lessons on the Communicative Approach and the CLIL. Firstly, because I think that language has to be used in real life situations and to communicate. I decided to use the topic of "Pollution and Environment" to create a context. This group loves helping people and the world, they are very concious so I thought that this topic would be great for them. The first class, I presented the topic using some pictures related to pollution and a we watched a video. Students showed interest on the topic.

The second class I wanted to include some more videos to engage students. I found an interesting video. We watched it, and then I showed them a brochure that I made as an example. Finally students worked in pair to produce their own brochures with different ways to help our planet.

During the third class students presented their brochures in groups, they showed enthusiasm. Students also worked orally to ask their friend "How do you get to school?" to encourage them to use the language to communicate and for real purposes.
Lesson planning number III
As I wanted to introduce some new concepts such as "sustainability" I surfed the web and I found a nice video to introduce the new target items. At the end of the class, we played a game called "Relay Race" to help students to identify different causes and effects of pollution. Students enjoyed the lesson!

In order to recap previous vocabulary, we started the fifth class playing a Bingo game about pollution and environmental issues. We also watched a nice video related to Global Warming.

The last class I decided to encourage students to write some promises to help our planet, I provided students with some cardboard circles and paint to print their hands on it and write their promises. They loved the activity. We also played a game in which they had to classify some items according the material they were made of.
